Background

Johannes Nambala (1991) is Namibia’s and sprint champion in 100m and 200m in T13 (totally blind). He won two silver medals at the Paralympics of Rio 2016 and is the current World Champion in the 400m event. He is competing against the world’s best from Europa, US and Latin America. Johannes needs to overcome the limitations of his support environment and to optimise his training and living conditions.

Johannes Nambala was born in 1991 in the village of Iikokola, in the Uukwaluudhi District of Namibia. Complications at birth left him visually impaired; though he is not blind. Johannes was honored with an award for Sports Man of the Year with a disability for the MTC/NSC Namibia Sports Awards in 2017. Johannes is eager to have more education and is improving himself continiously.

After two silver medals at the Rio2016 Paralympics, Johannes Nambala won gold at the 9th Fazza Para Athletics Championships in 200m (22,08 sec) and gold in 400m (49,01 sec). He clocked his season best in 200m with a time of 21,81 seconds and a season best in 400m beating the finish line with a time of 48,01 seconds. It was a build up to the London World Para Athletics Championships where Johannes achieved another two silver medals in the 200m and 400m races. He is the current World Champion in the 400m event since the World Championships in Dubai, 2019.

Johannes made his achievements with little support and very limited resources. He is also supported by the Frankie Fredericks Foundation. However, his next goals requires to optimize the environment that supports his personal and athlete's life:

enhance training efforts; improve equipment; support travel conditions; optimise nutrition

All these aspects have room, and need, for improvement. Your support will help Johannes to optimize his preparations. Contact us for sponsoring opportunities. We will be happy to answer your questions directly.
